What about the payment terms ?

Any booking made within six months of the charter date requires a 50% deposit to reserve a yacht. The balance and the APA are due on the date outlined in your contract. Payments by bank transfer are required. We may accept payment by Visa or MasterCard but there will be a fee added to the amount due. We will ask you to fill in and sign a debit/credit card authorization.

What does the charter fee include ?

The charter rate includes the hire, the crew wages and insurance of the yacht for marine risk and third party claims.

All other expenses such as fuel for the engines, generators and water sports equipment, all running costs, harbor dues, food, soft and alcoholic drinks, communication costs, local taxes (if applicable), crew gratuities, etc. are at an additional cost to the charterer (refer to the next question).

What is the APA (Advanced Provisioning Allowance) ?

The cost of a charter is based on a base price to which are added the expenses proper to the client and its business during the charter.

Depending on case, the APA may vary but it is ‘normally’ about 30% of the contract value.

What is the level of he gratuity ?

The tip is purely voluntary. If you decide that you want to tip the captain and the crew (if they have been professional, helpful, etc.) it is customary 5%-10% of the basic charter amount. The tip has to be given before your departure or to be discussing with the broker and written on the contract. If there are multiple crew members, we recommend you to give the tip to the captain and he will allocate it, equally divided, to the rest of the crew.
